The reason we campaign on poverty AND the environment is simple. Because climate change hits the world’s poorest people first — and worst. According to the Global Humanitarian Forum’s Human Impact Report:
What does all this mean?
We have to act. There’s no longer any doubt that poverty and climate change are inseparable. There are times we will address these issues separately, but it’s clear that by acting on climate change, we act on poverty.
What can I do about it?
Make your voice heard. Make your voice count. Make no mistake… your action can have a profound effect. In the run-up to the UN Climate Change Summit » and next year’s UK General Election, there’s never been a better time to end our silence and rise up.
